This secion of railway, connecting Battambang to Phnom Penh, was built by the French between 1930 and 1940. It is in good enough shape for a Norrie, but not much else. Rumours have persisted for years that the line will be recondidtioned and opned to commercial traffic, but like the rest of Cambodia, development occurs at a snails pace.
